Honda Encourages Restoration – Brings Back Production of Classic Genuine Parts

Exciting news for classic car enthusiasts! Honda Motor Co. has announced the launch of Honda Heritage Works, a new service program beginning April 1, 2026. This program is designed to support owners of classic Honda and Acura sport models with genuine reproduction parts and professional restoration services.

If you own a first-generation NSX or another classic sport-type Honda, this new program will allow you to maintain, restore, and enjoy your vehicle for years to come.

What Is Honda Heritage Works?

Honda Motor Co. is expanding its commitment to long-term vehicle support by introducing two key services under Honda Heritage Works:

1. Honda Heritage Parts

Heritage Parts will focus on reproducing and supplying certain discontinued genuine parts that aren’t currently mass-produced and might be hard to find, which is great for classic model owners. Honda will focus on making two types of heritage parts:

  • Genuine Honda Heritage Compatible Parts
Newly redeveloped and reproduced components that will replace the original parts that are no longer for sale by Honda. These parts will use updated materials and manufacturing technology in collaboration with original suppliers.
  • Genuine Honda Heritage Reproduction Parts
These parts are reproduced using the same materials and production methods as the original factory parts, if you want to stay true to the original construction.

These parts will be sold globally through Honda’s standard genuine parts distribution channels, making it easier for owners worldwide to maintain their classic Honda vehicles.

The program will initially support the Honda NSX, with plans to expand to additional classic Honda and Acura sport models in the future.

2. Honda Restoration Service

In addition to parts reproduction, Honda is introducing a renewed restoration program in Japan. Originally known as the NSX Refresh Plan, Honda Restoration Service will focus on restoring vehicles to their original performance, appearance, and feel using Honda Heritage Parts.

This new Heritage service center will offer two service options:

Basic Restoration

  • Engine removal, cleaning, inspection, and parts replacement
  • Suspension component replacement
  • Replacement and adjustment of age-related wear items

Total Restoration

  • All Basic Restoration services
  • Full exterior restoration (complete repaint after body disassembly)
  • Interior restoration (seats, dashboard, door panels, controls)

Applications for restoration of the first-generation NSX (NA1-100) begin January 2026 through Honda dealerships in Japan, with restoration work starting April 2026.

What This Means for Classic Honda Owners

Honda Heritage Works reinforces Honda’s long-term commitment to supporting classic Honda and Acura performance vehicles. Whether you need discontinued parts or a full restoration, this new program ensures Honda and Acura enthusiasts can preserve their vehicles with confidence.

If you’re a proud owner of a classic Honda sports car, or you’re searching for one, this program adds significant long-term value and peace of mind. It also makes classic car restoration more accessible and easier to get into, with original parts becoming much easier to find and get.
